Two Songs

I have been listening to two very beautiful songs this week, over and over again: California Lullabye by Spectrum, and Water Wolves by the Chills. That is all.

Both great songs, Alasdair!

Saw you guys play last night at Doug Fir (my third time seeing you live!) in Portland... fantastic show!! Can't tell you enough how much I enjoy your music.

Picked up Bonfires on the Heath on vinyl at the show, and Minotaur off the iTunes store today... I figured you as a band have given me so much over the years, I should give back. (Thanks!)

I have two questions. The first: was 'Violet Hour' ever put on vinyl? (I want it badly -- and thanks for playing 'Lamplight' last night!!) The second: have you read any Borges? 'Minotaur' reminds me a great deal of his "The House of Asterion"...

Hi joe, thanks for coming last night. Yeah the first verse of Minotaur is totally 'house of asterion'-inspired. Nice that someone spotted it!

There should be some violet hour vinyl around somewhere - maybe check pointyrecords.co.uk if merge don't have any.

"California Lullabye" is actually "Lullabye in the Rain" by Jan & Dean, but you probably already knew that. Had to put in my two California cents.

Nice show at the casbah tonight, thanks for the TVP cover.

Dear Alasdair:

Thank you so much for coming to San Diego. I love your music from the bottom of my heart. And you are four very nice people:

See links for pics from March and 9/12/10. Editing short video too.

Thanks for the info, Alasdair! Looking forward to what comes next for the The Clientele, and catching you on tour again in the future. (Hopefully next time I'll manage to say more to you in person than slurring a line of Verlaine or offering to buy you a drink!)

Oh man, sorry Joe, you were the one who offered me a drink in Portland? I didn't realise. I had friends I was duty bound to say hello to there and then, and I'd probably had enough anyway to be honest. Apologies anyway.

Haha, no worries, Alasdair. Thanks. I'll be sure to try again at a better time... whenever you're back in Portland next!

Take care 'til then! I'll be waiting for the next EP, LP, mini-album...
