For future tribute bands

I have to admit, this has made me happier than any press on the Clientele I have ever read. Guitargeek made a picture of my "rig"! It must have taken hours!

I already have the set :)

Plus a Super Reverb and a Vox.

We can do a very accurate "Reflections After Jane", until the vocals kick in, that is.

I saw you guys in San Diego at the Casbah a while back. Will you be making another trip to Southern Cal anytime soon? Loved your show and all your albums.

hey anonymous stick the vocals through a sessionette guitar amp with a very cheap dynamic mic (an sm57/58 is too luxurious) and you'll get the vocal sound too!

hey anonymous #2 hope to be in san diego early in 2010, watch this space

Wow, that is really cool. So what ever happened that songbook, or if you can let me know what chords and notes you play on "missing". That song is really something special, I had it played at my wedding and everyone asked about it. I will love all your music until I'm old and grey. Thanks Alisdair!

hopefully this will make sense:

e a d g b e

x 2 4 4 4 2/0

on a night like this

e a d g b e

x 4 4 2 0 4/0

you can't brush away

(repeat for next 2 lines)

(and first line of chorus)

e a d g b e

2 x 2 2 0 0

the first time that i

E

saw you i could say a

B

thing

(repeat for rest of chorus)

E

cos spending

e a d g b e
x 0 2 2 2 4

time and money doesn't mean a

B

thing when the

e a d g b e
x 0 2 2 2 4

moon come smiling through the

E

trees

(repeat for next line)

but you're

e a d g b e

Hey Alasdair--
Inspired choice opening with Big Star's nighttime. Two of my favorite bands; never did I think the twain would meet...and the new songs sounded fantastic. Also good to see (hear) Mel singing more (If you do grow the Fleet Fox beard, you two will have a nymph-and-shepherd thing going on)...Can't wait for Bonfires, and the tour. Maybe 930 club this time in DC? Best, Mark in DC

And a beautiful rig it is, too. Thanks for the lovely show at Echoplex last night. Just in passing: that was the second time I'd seen you cats and you've yet to play the song for which this blog is named (my favorite Clientele tune, by the way). Nerts.
